The monthly governance recaps provide a summary of essential governance updates from the previous month. This edition highlights Renzo’s governance activities for January 2024.

Snapshot Proposals

Risk Management framework is a key growth factor of the entire protocol. The DAO received a major proposal from existing partners at Chaos Labs.

  • Initially onboarded via Governance in this voting proposal, Chaos Labs began providing risk management services for Renzo DAO. The new proposal submitted on January 23rd requested a continuous engagement on which the community had an outstanding stance with 100% votes in favour.

  • Also included on the proposal is a payment request in REZ tokens and scope of the services moving forward

  • So far, Chaos Labs have provided hard tested methodologies for the protocol in:

  • Rewards Harvesting

  • AVS Risk Measure

  • Liquidity Buffer Modelling

  • Ongoing development includes a Risk Alert framework that will enable the Renzo DAO to proactively identify and mitigate risks, ensuring system stability and resilience.

  • Scope of work in the coming quarter will entail:

  • Finalizing and operationalizing the AVS allocation methodology.

  • Delivering a comprehensive framework for protocol risk alerts that is ready for implementation.

Insights into Voting Behavior

During the month of January 2025, the DAO saw:

For the observed period, the total number of active voters for snapshot proposal was 22

  1. Chaos Labs <> Renzo AVS Risk Assessment Methodology

The post by Chaos Labs quantifies the maximum slashing risk – referred to as Value at Risk (VaR) here by incorporating slashing behavior across multiple node operators and multiple AVSs. As a part of Chaos’ commitment to providing Risk Framework services for the DAO, a risk methodology for AVS was published.

Conclusion

The month of January saw a good turn out of snapshot voters. Active research posts by Chaos also signaled strength towards security, scalability and economic growth of the entire protocol. In the coming months, this report will include community and social metrics. Progressively, comparison metrics as regards to the previous month will be included as well.
